[Installation] Known error: Box ID is already in use

This error may occur during a player installation if the entered BoxID is already in use by another media player. It can also occur if there was a timeout while trying to register your device with the CMS server.


Problem description


Player registration fails, stating that the BoxID is already in use.

 

  • A media player with the same BoxID is already registered.
  • The BoxID entered is not correct.


Solution

 

  1. Check the BoxID for typos, etc.
  2. Use the following workaround

  1. Press F9 to go to the installation step where you enter your dealer information.
  2. Change the BoxID by adding “temp” at the end.


Example:


   3. Create a ticket to notify your local IT Service Desk / Dealer Help Desk (1st Level) about the incorrect Box ID and request for it to be updated correctly.
